daughter quinn. in quotes from the new memoir purchased by associated press ahead of its release date, hunter reveals details of a phone call with edwards just days before his indictment. so if you went to jail what kind of jail would it be? one of those country clubs she asked? he said, yeah. where she asked? probably virginia he replied. so quinn and i will move to virginia. virginia is a great state. on wednesday prosecutors dropped all charges against the former presidential candidate after his case ended in a mistrial in may. prosecutors had accused edwards of scheming to use roughly $1 million in funds allegedly funneled through his campaign to hide a then-pregnant hunter from the public and his wife. in much of the memoir hunter describes her relationship with edwards before she went into hiding as well as now and discusses his role as a father to quinn. writing, he is a great dad to her when he is with her.

clearing him on six counts including perjury charges. allegations that he lied to congress when he denied steroid use. 10-week trial took a toll. >> really all of the, all of you media guys that know me and followed my career. [ applause ] >> reporter: the case included more than 40 witnesses, but the key witness was clemens' former trainer, who testified that he injected the pitcher with steroids. but even prosecutors acknowledged that his credibility problems and defense attorneys argued the trainer's story had changed over the years. another important witness, current yankee pitcher, andy pettitt before the trial began seemed to bolster prosecutors's case, but under cross-examination his testimony helped the defense. >> yeah, i don't care to talk about that. >> reporter: yankees fans are talking about the case. in the eyes of some the damage done.

had tested positive. and gone. that's the way, did so much for the sport. roger clemens will be on the ballot for the very first time this coming year this fall. >> interesting vote. he is cleared by the court. cleared by the court. >> still. >> the trial hangs over folks too. >> huge cloud. >> yeah, it is not over yet. there is a defamation suit against clemens from his trainer on hold while the trial played out. his legal battles not over yet. >> everybody is thrilled how much that cost the taxpayers too. awe always. >> jurors in the jerry sandusky trial could get the case by thursday. witnesses for the former penn state assistant coach began taking the stand yesterday. all six witnesses defended sandusky's reputation, but none directly contradicted last week's testimony from young men who said they had been sexually abused. >> sandusky has been portrayed by the prosecution as, you know, nothing less than a monster. and so, what does the defense have? they have, other people who see him and know him differently.

>> this could be the day that sandusky himself takes the stand. but when he was asked about it yesterday, the former coach refused to say. >> i almost believe really that would be, if the defense really feels desperate they would take the pretty extreme measure of putting sandusky himself on the stand. risky move considering the interviews he has given before. stay tuned. former rutgers student convicted of spying on his gay roommate leaving jail with good news. federal immigration officials say he will not be deported to india. he has now served 20 days of his 30 day sentence for 15 criminal charges. he is getting some time off for good behavior. that roommate of course, tyler clemente committed suicide days after the incident. there is new information involving a high profile legal case. >> recordings of jail house calls between george zimmerman and his wife have now been made public by the prosecution. abc's t.j. winick joining us

this morning with more about what is on the tapes. t.j.? >> reporter: good morning, rob and paula. the tapes reveal some details about the relationship between george and shellie zimmerman, according to the state they also reveal a conspiracy to hide money from the court. the tapes are six jail house conversations mostly between george zimmerman and his wife shellie and would lead to zimmerman having his bail revoked and his wife's arrest both accused of lying about how much money they really had. >> okay, so total everything, how much are we looking at? awe all. m, like $155. >> the family didn't just have $155. they had $155,000. the two can also be heard speaking in code, using names like peter pan, and wendy. >> they were using code words thinking that the police are going to be real stupid. >> reporter: much of the zimmerman's money call through the website,

a texas teacher is under fire. >> she lost her jobs because of accusation he's ordered her class to line up and take turns hitting the 6-year-old kindergartner. controversial here, ryan owens has more on this story. >> reporter:aiden may not look like a bully as he tackles the monkey bars, but that's what school officials say the 6-year-old is. his kindergarten teacher at this school outside san antonio allegedly came up with a creative way to put an end to the bullying. she is accused of having 24 other students in the class line up and slap aiden one by one. >> he was hit on the head in the face on the back. all the kids hit him twice. 24 kids in the classroom.

he had friends in that class. and there were friend that did not want to hit him. the teacher instructed them to hit him. >> reporter: the 6-year-old smackdown happened in early may. >> the teacher told him not to tell us. >> reporter: he didn't. and his parents only found out weeks later when the principal called. >> my stomach was in knots. it was horrible. i was in shock. i still am. >> reporter: the school district fired the teacher accused of hatching the most unusual anti-bullying lesson. district police charged her along with another teacher who allege lead failed to report the smackdown with a misdemeanor. >> we are doing everything we can to make sure that these kind of incidents don't happen again. >> i just want to make sure she doesn't, able to teach again. i just want to make sure that -- justice is served for aiden. >> reporter: while the teacher who was allege lead directly involved in the incident won't be back in the classroom next year.

76 in salt lake city. mostly 90s from albuquerque to detroit. and 70s in the northeast. well the government has struck out a second time in its case against roger clemens. a jury yesterday found the baseball great not guilty of lying to congress about using performance enhancing drugs. the verdict ends a five-year investigation in clemens' off field activities. an earlier attempt ended in a mistrial after a mistake by the prosecution. in other news, jerry sandusky could take the stand as early as the today in his own defense. his attorneys indicated during opening statements that jurors would hear from the former penn state coach. yesterday six character witnesses testified that sandusky was an upstanding member of the community. one even called him a local hero. though none directly disputed last week's testimony from alleged victims. president obama and other world leaders say they have come up with a global plan for job creation. details to be released later today from the g-20 summit. now the escalating violence
